Food Insecurity in Santa Clara County/San Jose

A recent study from Santa Clara University highlights a critical reality: food insecurity remains highest in East San Jose, even after people access existing assistance programs. In neighborhoods like Mayfair and Alum Rock, nearly 30% of residents continue to struggle with consistent access to nutritious food.

We’re grateful to the study for shedding light on where the need is greatest, because understanding the gaps helps us focus our efforts where they matter most. As we expand our reach and deepen partnerships, our mission stays the same: to nourish our neighbors with dignity and compassion.
