BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Ray Davilla

President
​Judge Ray joined our board in 2018. He served 20 years on the Santa Clara County Superior Court and retired in April 2015. He is an alumnus of Bellarmine College Prep and serves on their Board of Regents. He graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Political Science in 1969 and received his Juris Doctorate degree from the SCU School of Law in 1972. He serves on the SCU Board of Regents, Alumni Association Board and the SCU Law School Alumni Board. Judge Ray is also on the Executive Committee for Catholic Charities and a board member for VIA Services. He resides in San Jose with his wife Jane and is an active member of Saint Christopher Parish.

Ray Flowers

Immediate Past President
Ray Flowers has been a volunteer at Martha's Kitchen for over 15 years and became a member of the Board of Directors in 2015. He has over 30 years of Executive Management experience including 25 years in High Tech companies in Silicon Valley. He earned an MBA from CSU Long Beach. He is active in community outreach with St. Anthony parish. He and his wife Rosemarie live in Willow Glen.​

Gerry Ferrari

​Gerry Ferrari became a member of the Board of Directors in 2001 and was elected President in January 2014. He was a Senior Audit Partner at Ernst & Young where he held various management, client handling and technical roles over a 34-year career. Mr. Ferrari has been a member of the Finance Advisory and Audit committees for Martha’s Kitchen since their inception. He is an alumnus of Bellarmine College Prep and Santa Clara University where he serves on the Board of Fellows. He, his wife Robin and son Bret live in Willow Glen.

Mary Pat Lass

Secretary
Mary Pat Lass has been a volunteer since 1995 and became a member of the Board of Directors in 2006. She has been the Secretary of the Board of Directors since January 2010. Mrs. Lass is a past Chairman of the Board of Contact Cares Crisis Line which became part of Bill Wilson Center. She has a multi-national educational experience having studied in Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and the U.S. She is a retired nurse. She and her husband Jerry support various civic causes and live in Saratoga.

​Michael Hack

Director
​Michael Hack joined Martha’s Kitchen’s Board of Director in 2007 and is a member of the Finance Advisory Committee. Mr. Hack is currently Sr. Vice-President at Morgan Stanley and is an active community volunteer. He is a chair of the Ignatian Center Advisory Board. He is also an emeritus of Santa Clara University Board of Regents and a past President of its Board of Fellows.

​​Michael Christian

Director
Michael Christian joined the Board of Directors in 2017.  He has decades of experience in hosting car auctions for a thousand dealers. He has had years of executive management experience. He has volunteered his time helping organize volunteers at Martha's Kitchen and before that worked with mentally disabled teens, primarily with autism in the 1980's.  Michael is very active with his parish, St. Mary's in Los Gatos.

Karthik Kannan

​Karthik Kannan is a successful serial entrepreneur and is currently founder and CEO of Anvilogic Inc, a venture-backed, cyber-security startup based in Palo Alto, CA. Prior to that, he led the Security Analytics business at Splunk, following the acquisition of his previous company, Caspida, in 2015.  He holds patents in the cyber-security and analytics spaces, and has made several public-forum presentations in the field of cyber-security, analytics and big data. He  has extensive experience in high tech general management, marketing and product management and has previously worked at NetApp and Goldman Sachs.  Karthik is an active volunteer/contributor to programs benefiting the local community such as providing food to the less-privileged, exploring shelter opportunities and sponsoring education opportunities for the low-income within the Bay Area as well as in his native India.

​​Katie Jaeb

​Katie Jaeb joined the Board of Directors of Martha’s Kitchen’s in 2008 and serves as a member of its Finance Advisory Committee. Mrs. Jaeb is a Partner at Ernst & Young. She is an active CalPoly alumnus, a member of the AICPA and CalCPA and a Steering Committee member of the Presentation High School Lantern League, a women’s giving circle. She and her husband Winston live in Willow Glen.

​​​Ron Mackin

​Ron’s commitment to service at Martha’s Kitchen runs deep. He takes his job very seriously and truly enjoy being part of the community. He’s a big guy with an even bigger heart. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2005 (Vice-President 2010-2013). Ron is an expert in real estate and served on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities Housing Development for 10 years. He is excellent with numbers and wholeheartedly serves the community at Martha’s Kitchen. He is an invaluable asset to the Board of Directors. ​​

Lon Normandin

​Mr. Normandin became a director of Martha’s Kitchen in 2008. He is the Chairman of Normandin Chrysler-Jeep in San Jose which opened  in 1875, two decades prior to the advent of the American automobile industry. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Santa Clara University. He is the Chairman of the Board of Regents at Bellarmine College Preparatory and a Trustee at Presentation High School. He is a founder and board member of Heritage Bank of Commerce. He currently serves on numerous boards and supports numerous charitable organizations. Lon has been married to Peggy for over 50 years, has 6 adult children and 13 grandchildren.

​Ernie Pacioni

​Ernie Pacioni has been a volunteer since 1988 and a member of Martha’s Kitchen Board of Directors since July 1997. He has been serving as Treasurer since 2001. Mr. Pacioni held several sales and management jobs in the retail industry prior to volunteering at Martha’s Kitchen. He is a secular Carmelite based at St. Mary’s in Gilroy. He is also the Treasurer of the Serra Club of Gilroy/Morgan Hill. He and his wife Colleen are originally from Salt Lake City. They moved to Gilroy from Saratoga, CA in 1998.

​​Melvin Russi, M.D.

​
Mel joined the Board of Directors in 2001, following retirement form the practice of Urologic Surgery in San Jose. He is a Past President and volunteer at Martha’s Kitchen. He lives in Los Altos Hills, with Lois, his wife of over 50 years. They are blessed with 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren, all living in the greater Bay Area. He enjoys many hobbies and is an active member of their Catholic Parish of St. Nicholas & St. William.

​Louise Zarka

​Louise H. Zarka has been a member of the Board since December 2007. She has been volunteering weekly to serve the clients these past four years. She is a Dame of Order of Malta, an international Catholic apostolic order. She has served the terminally ill on several pilgrimages. She is an active community volunteer and has been President of the O’Connor Hospital Guild, Regent of St. Patrick’s seminary, President of Ladies of Charity, member of Catala Club of Santa Clara University and Serra Club of Santa Clara. She co-founded the program and spent many hours with those who were close to death. Mrs. Zarka and her late husband Dr. Frank Zarka has 7 children, 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Tom Victorine

​Tom Victorine has been volunteering at Martha’s Kitchen for more than six years and became a member of the Board of Directors in 2020. He had more than 40 years of executive management experience in the water treatment and electric power industries. Tom received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and a Certificate in Management and Supervision from San Jose State University.  He is active in community outreach and other ministries at St. Anthony parish.  He and wife Mary live in San Jose’s Almaden Valley.

Anisha Garverick

​​Anisha is a Bay Area native attending San Jose Unified Public Schools and college at Santa Clara University. Ever since middle school, she has actively volunteered for local organizations serving low-income communities in her area including Second Harvest Food Bank, Sacred Heart, the Emergency Housing Consortium, the Princess Project, and Court Appointed Special Advocates/Guardians ad Litem (CASA/GAL). Starting in 2014, through her employer Frank, Rimerman + Co., she took on the role as a Corporate Work Study Supervisor with Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School and has since become an active volunteer within the Cristo Rey High School Network. She resides in Mountain View with her husband, John, and dog, Zeus and enjoys dancing in her free time.​

Ryan Wright

Ryan Wright joined Martha’s Kitchen’s  Board of Directors in 2020. Mr. Wright is currently a Senior Director and Market Leader at Willis Towers Watson where he has provided rewards and employee benefits consulting to large organizations and held various management roles since 2004. He is an alumnus of Bellarmine College Preparatory and Santa Clara University. Ryan resides in San Jose and is an active community supporter and volunteer.
