"Eating Twinkies With God: We don't need to look far and wide for God. He's in every one of us and in every thing that we do. Whether you believe or not, we all can agree that by helping each other, each good act that we do makes this world a brighter place. Let us rise to the occasion and be kinder to each other, to help one another. We are all on the same team."
As we begin a new year, we are pondering over the following three questions:
Question 1: Had you been a German Christian during World War II, would you have taken a stand against Hitler? Question 2: Had you lived in the South during the civil rights conflict, would you have taken a stand against racism? Question 3: When your grandchildren discover you lived during a day in which 1.75 billion people were poor and 1 billion were hungry, how will they judge your response? The first two questions might not be so bad, since those choices were not ours to make, and we’d like to think we would have made the right decision. However, the third question just might keep you up at night. We are given an opportunity to make a difference during a difficult time. We were created by God to do great works. He invites us to outlive our lives, not just in heaven but here on earth. Help us in our mission to end hunger, and be the example you wish to see in the world. (And become a hero in the eyes of your grandchildren.) Join us as a volunteer or a donor in fighting hunger, right here in our own backyard. You can make a difference. It's that simple. |
