Martha’s Kitchen is a not-for profit, interfaith, mom-and-pop Hot Meal Program which has served tens of thousands of hungry men, women and children in the San Jose area. On a daily basis, we see the need of hungry families, veterans, senior citizens, the forgotten, the throw-aways of society, the runaway kids and the frightened immigrant; all these in one of the wealthiest areas of the world, Silicon Valley, where the cost of a small house is beyond the means of the average person.
Martha’s Kitchen is made possible by the generosity of people like you, people who donate goods and their time to help those less fortunate. Many feel they do not have the time in their busy lives to help others. But there are many small things that can be done to help the hungry poor. Above is a “Wish List” of things that are needed by Martha’s Kitchen on a daily basis. The next time you shop at one of the big discount mega-stores, place one or two things from the list in your basket and drop them by Martha’s Kitchen to help those less fortunate.
The kitchen is open to take donations Mondays thru Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we have extended receiving through 5:00 p.m.
You can call the kitchen at 408.293.6111 if you need more information or would like to speak to someone about making a special donation.
If any volunteer in good faith believes that some policy, practice or activity of Martha’s Kitchen is in violation of law, a written complaint may be filed by that volunteer with the Executive Director. The support of all volunteers is necessary to achieving compliance with various laws and regulations.
