2017 marked the 6th Annual Paella Fiesta at Siena Bistro. The last 4 years were fundraisers for Martha’s Kitchen. From endless Paella to pitchers of Sangria, attendants this year feasted on the famous food cooked by Siena Bistro’s head chef and owner, David Wiesner. By attending this event, they also supported alleviating hunger in the Bay Area.
Wiesner sponsored Paella Fiesta because “Edita (Martha’s Kitchen’s Director) and her staff came to mind when I decided to give back to the local community. I did a similar benefit at my previous place of employment”. Wiesner supports Martha’s Kitchen’s mission, and believes that “In today’s society, it’s good and needed that somebody is there to help those in need,”. He has donated a dinner for their sponsors for ten years and this will be the eleventh year.
For many customers, this was not the first time they attended Paella Fiesta. One customer said he came back because, “The food is absolutely delicious! My family and I love David’s personality, and did I mention the food is great?” For other people, they came because they had close ties to Martha’s Kitchen. One customer said, “I’ve been working at Martha’s Kitchen since I was 15. It’s good they treat everyone with dignity and let them be themselves. It’s a fantastic place!”.
All in all, the event was a great success, and we hope to see you next year!
